Sisterhood

Why do we need a Sisterhood, you might ask. Isn’t that a relic of the past from the days when women were not allowed to participate in services or sit on synagogue Boards? Nowadays, women can do all that; why do we need a separate group? Our families are often times far away and our neighbours are not connected to Jewish life. The goal of our Sisterhood is to strengthen and support the bonds between women connected to Jewish life, through shared goals and experiences.

In March 2012, the Sisterhood sponsored a Women's Seder (See photo). Nineteen members attended and participated in the service which celebrated the roles, values, and contributions of Jewish women, past and present, to Jewish spiritual life and to tikun olam.
