WRSS Jewish Film Festival
  This Thursday, Nov. 20th, 7:30PM

The Other Son: Two babies are born at about the same time in an Israeli hospital. One is Israeli. The other is Palestinian. They're evacuated during a missile attack, accidentally switched and raised by each others' families for the next 18 years.

That's the plot line. When the mistake is discovered, how do the families react? What disturbs them more: that their son has been raised as an enemy or that he has been raised in another religion? That's where "The Other Son" gets complicated. If you haven't already seen it, this is a "don't miss" film.

Even if you have already seen it, watch it again with us to get ready to discuss it at the Adult Study Group  session on Monday, December 1, 7:30pm. Family Shabbat & Potluck Dinner
Friday, Nov. 21st, 6:30pm

A short, family-oriented Shabbat service will be followed by a potluck dinner.  Each family is asked to bring a DAIRY dish to share.  Need some ideas?  How about kugel, blintzes, salmon or tuna salad, devilled eggs, quiches, Greek salad, lox, barley or quinoa salads.

Dessert and beverages will be provided.

Project Isaiah
“… share your bread with the hungry” Isaiah 58:7

Each year,  the Jewish Family Service Agency, in collaboration with Jewish Women International-BC, operates Project Isaiah – a High Holy Day food drive that assists members of our community in need.

A successful response to Project Isaiah is vital to continue to feed 400 Greater Vancouver Jewish community members who rely on our support.

Special bags will be available at our Rosh HaShanah services - or use your own.  After the bags are filled  with non-perishable food, they may be dropped off at the WRSSJCC.
