As part of the 2020 Jewish Book Festival, the WRSSJCC will be hosting author Gila Green.
GILA GREEN /
White Zion and
No Entry – born in Ottawa, Gila is a writer, editor and EFL teacher currently living in Israel. As the daughter of a Yemenite-Israeli father and Ashkenazi-Canadian mother, Gila paints from all the colours/hues of the Jewish palette. She often writes about racism, alienation, and immigration. The gritty yet shimmering stories in
White Zion are rich in intimate details, peopled with a cast of heart-wrenching characters at once familiar and unique. In
No Entry, her YA novel, she tackles elephant poaching through the eyes of a young, Canadian heroine on her first visit to South Africa's Kruger National Park.
Come meet, greet and listen to Gila on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at 4pm at the WRSSJCC.
There is no cost, but please RSVP.
