At the start of each Jewish new year, many Jews partake in the ritual Tashlich: a symbolic throwing our sins into the water, often using breadcrumbs. A newer idea is to flip that symbolism, instead, partaking in "Reverse Tashlich." As a way of removing our sins from the water, we clean up trash from beaches and other bodies of water. The concept of Reverse Tashlich is also rooted in the commandment of Baal Tashchit: do not destroy. Cleaning up beaches is a way of caring for our natural environment and counteracting destruction and pollution of water. Registrants are asked to sign this waiver:
